Our babies have been enjoying some lovely Easter-themed activities, exploring colours, textures, and sensory play in a fun and engaging way. From painting to messy play, it’s been a wonderful opportunity for them to discover, create, and express themselves.

Outdoor play, such as pushing tyres, is a fantastic way for pre-school children to develop strength, coordination, and resilience. These activities encourage children to use their whole bodies, supporting gross motor development and promoting a healthy, active lifestyle.

Working together to move and balance tyres also helps build teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills, as children learn to cooperate, take turns, and overcome challenges. It’s wonderful to see their confidence and determination grow as they achieve their goals.

At Building Blocks Day Nurseries, we value outdoor learning as an essential part of the EYFS, giving children meaningful, hands-on experiences that support both their physical and personal development.

With the lovely weather we had last week, the children enjoyed a nice little trip out together, finishing their outing with some time at the local park to run around and let off some steam. It was wonderful to see them enjoying the fresh air, exploring, and having fun with their friends.

A huge thank you to our fantastic staff team, who always go above and beyond to create fun, exciting opportunities and experiences for the children. These moments help build confidence, friendships, and lasting memories.

We may have the next generation of architects in the making! One of our children showed fantastic determination and focus whilst carefully building her tower, working hard to balance each block and make it as tall as possible.

Activities like this help children develop problem-solving skills, patience, and perseverance, while also supporting fine motor development and creativity through play. It’s always wonderful to see the pride on their faces when their hard work pays off!

Our toddlers have been having lots of fun taking part in exciting activities, and they especially loved this insect-themed messy painting activity!

The children explored different colours and textures while creating their own insect-inspired artwork. Activities like this are a fantastic way for toddlers to develop creativity, fine motor skills, and confidence, all while enjoying sensory, hands-on learning through play. And of course… getting a little messy is part of the fun!

We’ve had a very exciting Annual Reptile Day, and the children have been having a wonderful hands-on experience learning all about different reptiles and animals. They’ve loved meeting a variety of fascinating creatures, asking questions, and gaining confidence as they explored something new.

A huge thank you to the wonderful company who brought the animals in and helped make this experience so engaging and educational. It’s been the perfect way to tie in with our theme for the month — Amazing Animals 🐍🐢✨
